The Fire of the Lord and the Fake Fire.

1Ki 19:12 And after the earthquake a fire; but the LORD was not in the fire: and after the fire a still small voice.

In the previous chapter, the Lord answered Elijah's prayer by accepting the Carmelite offering, altar, rocks and water by His consuming fire.

Today, the Lord teaches Elijah that every fire that passes by is not from the Lord. Today, He is speaking in a still small voice. I have noticed that God builds faith early on by the miraculous until such time as His still small voice is sufficient for the mature believer.
